You ask for answers quite frequently. Is it homework? Do you have a tutor who can help you?

This is not 11+ work - ask your teacher for extra help as we will not be helping by doing your homework for you :D

Well spotted, I always assumed that these were questions from parents that needed help! Thanks for opening my eyes

aaman1, please could you be kind enough to make it clear when you are posting maths questions whether they are 11+ or homework? It could cause a lot of panic if people think these are 11+ standard!

It is then up to individual members if they wish to help you out with homework questions.

2nd question has another answer (not just 3). But as others mention, this is not 11+, more like Key Stage 4!

Here is a good resource to help with the 2nd question: http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesi ... rev1.shtml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm not sure that you learn anything by writing in here for the answers. Do your parents know that you get your answers off here for a tutor they are paying for? It's not the way to learn, and it's not the way to get the best from your tutor sessions. If your tutor does not know what you can and cannot do they will not be able to focus their tutoring on your specific needs which is the whole point of tutoring.

What year are you in and what exams are you preparing for?

for the first question,
Width of rectangle =x
Length of rectangle=x+8
perimeter= 2( length+breadth)
= 2(x+8) + 2x
= 2x+16+2x
= 4x+16

perimeter of square with side y= 4y

Difference in perimeter of rectangle and square can be written as,
4x+16-4y or 4(x+4-y)
