How to improve general knowledge?
General knowledge is often needed in order to answer some of the VR, Comprehension and the Interview for the 11+ I wonder if there are any books that could help the children.
Re: How to improve general knowledge?
reading, watching television, going to interesting places all these will help. Maybe a quiz game orbook ( make sure it is up to date though!)

chat about "today in parliament" around the kitchen table,
have a look at the newspaper together,
watch some of the historical clips on pathe news,
get a large world map and try language / capital / head of state spotting.

We use kid's quizes, i have a spiral type one, called Flip Quiz. There are several different titles in this series. Also The Big Book of Knowledge, a big puzzle with countries and capitals, and Who wants to be a Millionaire? There are lots of general knowledge questions in the First Aid English book, but sometimes the info is outdated.

my friend uses Flip Quiz with her year 4 class, they love playing it
