Would appreciate some help pls:

if code for CRY is FUB, what does ELQ mean?

My son got HOT but answer sheet says its BIn - cant see how they get to this.

because you have take 3 away from the code word to get to the actual word, the answer the book quotes is correct.

CRY to FUB, each letter of CRY, one adds 3 to get to the next letter. Hence if you take 3 away from the code word, that gets back to CRY, hope this makes sense

From the word to the code is +3 +3 +3.

So, to get from the code to the word you have to use -3 -3 -3.

Of course you do ...silly me. We have been recapping all the different vr types and I think my brain has gone mushy. My son will kick himself tonight when he seees his mistake.
