303, is this enough for in borough?

Post by sahara »

Feeling strangely lost now that the pressure is off, and am now giving myself something else to chew over.

For in borough girls, going for WHSG, is there an indication over the years, how many get in achieving close to the cut off point, say 303.5-305.5?

I think all girls who achieve the in borough passmark are offered a place. I know of a couple of 303s who were delighted to be given their places.

Thank you for that, a mum told me that as only 41 in borough girls got in this year, they would have been high achievers and that they don't want the lower marks near 303, and automatically offer more places out of borough.

Don't worry Sahara - that's just not how it works! If only 41 got in this year, that's because only 41 from in borough who wanted WHSG got above the 303 cut off. Therefore all the other places were allocated to out of borough children.

Hope that puts your mind at rest!

The only school in the borough that has offered above 303 is SHSB. They had so many in borough applicants that the score went up to 313 a couple of times. Not sure about last year though.
