Hi, welcome to the forum.

My DS is not sitting the exam but if there is a dress code for the day they would have specified in the letter they sent you. Otherwise I would assume casual clothes.

Maybe someone whose DS is sitting the exam can clarify?

I hadn't thought about this , just assumed would be casual clothing as this has been the case for the past few exams DS has taken, but as the exam is on a school day, I will confirm it with last years parents.

My ds1 wore his old hoody and ripped jeans
There is absolutely no requirement for uniform or any other form of special dress.

And even if there was a dress code, ignore it!

My DD came in while I was reading this. She said she should have arrived in a full Georgian ballgown (with sticking out sides) which would have been offputting to rivals and she would be the only one who passed!
Have to add that was quite perturbing to DD - that at the open day she knew that these other children were all possible rivals. Then when we went to the open day after getting results, all the others were her new colleagues...

Aagh- you've just summed up why the whole 11+ system stinks. What a way for children to have to think about other children! Well done for your dd being mature enough to see the awfulness of it.

Luckily dressing to impress does not factor in selection tests but, only for those independent school who interview also.

I disagree that the whole 11+ process stinks, rather its a rare opportunity in life where the colour of skin or ethnic origin are definately, not factors for entry to super-selective schools
