I'm inclined toward c on Q1 but cannot be sure. None of them seem quite right.

But in the column the square is moving across to the right and down
In the column the vertical line is moving to the right
In each row the side lines are decreasing but as the middle one in the relevant row is at 0 I thought the next might go back to 4 lines this is where I am not certain

Definitely D for Q2

I think the answer for Q1 is b. I could be wrong though. What is the correct answer?

I think c for Q1 for the reasons aargh has given

I think the side lines (which change as you look across the rows) do go back to 4 In the missing square.

The small black square is moving down and across one to the right as you look down the column and then across to the next column and down it.

In the middle small square, it's reached the bottom right corner and then flips over to be in the top right corner in the middle small square at the bottom and then starts moving progressively one to the left and down

I'd go for C on qu 1.
The lines on the right hand side are reducing in sequence from 4 to 0, reaching 0 in the centre square, so you want 4 lines in the ? square.
The vertical lines stay in place for a sequence of three squares, then shift towards the right, so you want a vertical which is slightly to left of centre.
The black squares are moving through the squares in vertical sequences. The right hand vertical is a downward and to the left trend, which would put the black square roughly in the centre of the square.
Add these three sequences together and C looks like the right answer.

Haven't looked at Qu 2 yet.

Think Qu 2 is D as that's a mirror image. Those are good questions. Where are they from and what level are they?
