Few years back but in our experience be prepared for very large numbers of children, some of whom are truly exceptional. They got them to do a bleep test to assess general fitness and then various other sports in a circuit including football, hockey, tennis, cricket, fitness. The masters assessing knew who was expected to be good in a particular sport and paid those boys particular attention when doing it, although I do remember a friend's son being particularly disappointed when nobody appeared to be looking when he did his best sport.
On the whole at least county level in one sport to get an award.
Although it looks a bit intimidating when they get there, the school are particularly good at putting boys at their ease and obviously the facilities are fab....

Good luck
