2011 National League Tables CSSE Rankings

Post by kaynor »

League Tables are far from the be all and end all but it is interesting to see the national positions.

Best A/As level results
(1) CRGS
(7) KEGS
(34) ChCHS
(50) SHSB
(58) SHSG
(68) WHSB
(78) ColCHS
(110) WHSG

Congratulations CRGS..........first in all of England!

Best EBacc results
(16) ChCHS
(34) KEGS
(62) CRGS
(75) ColCHS
(93) SHSG
(107) SHSB
(149) WHSB
(340) WHSG

The new EBacc measure is biased against WHSG as they excel in science, technology and engineering.

Indeed, congratulations to CRGS staff and pupils. I believe that they have held this position for the last couple of years but I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong!

Can I just ask what EBacc results are? Just being nosey. :)

And considered by CRGS to be a waste of space! We were told at parents evening the other night not to take it into account when choosing options!

The boys will all meet the Maths, English, Science and MFL components. They do not want to force boys who have no interest in geography or history to take one of them if they don't wish to. Also the current Ebac specification is only until 2013 and the children taking their options now will sit exams in 2014 so it may have changed by then.
He gave examples of sets of very academic GCSE's that wouldn't met the specification alongside much weaker sets that would and went on to say that if your son graduated from Cambridge with a first in Classics in a few years time he didn't think anyone would care if they had achieved the Ebac or not!

Thank you. I can see me asking you quite a few different things about this school and that you will be a good source of information. :)

Have just read an article about CRGS's A level results and that they have maintained this top spot for a fifth year! This is amazing. Apparently Mr Jenkinson has said that teachers will enjoy a pastry during morning break to celebrate this and then it's business as usual. Just another day in the life of CRGS...

As soon as I posted this, I then found another article which said 'sixth year'. I just knew that someone would 'pick me up' on this. :)
