Pass marks over the years?

Post by charliecat »

Anyone have a note of what they have been in Kent for the past few years?

I think it was 119 for each subject at year, and 117 the previous year. The total score must be 360.

When my eldest took it in 2004, it was (if i remember correctly) 114 and 360 total.
And it was the same 2 years later when DC2 took it...

My DD sat the last paper that was taken in Jan (I think 2007)
I have a feeling it was 115 but not less than 120 in two of the three papers. Please feel free to correct if wrong.

That sounds right for 2007. Pass mark for each paper was 120, aggregate pass was 360, but were allowed to "fail" one paper providing the score was not less than 115. Jan 2008 was a slight variation on the theme but I cannot recall the numbers precisely, might have been 117.

The aggregate pass has remained at 360 though over the years.

Also the various numbers in the posts above do not illustrate the actual pass scheme. Sometimes only one failed paper, ie below 120, was allowed, other years it was two providing the aggregate score was 360.

It should also be remembered the changing pass scores do not indicate a rise or decrease in the actual raw scores required. The changes are only really a slight tinkering of arbitrary scores, no doubt to "manufacture" the correct number of passes.

PS. I am sure the numbers will still be in the threads if you look back. For the years before about 2010 they will be in the March results/allocation day threads.
