We live on the Bickley/Chislehurst boarders. Are we out of the Bexley Grammar school catchment please? (at 5.9miles) and if not, does anyone please know if it is a easy(ish) journey.
Thanks

Hi Alison,
BGS cannot offer places out this far unless your child is in the top 180, then distance does not apply.

The Secondary Schools booklet on the Bexley Council website gives the distances for the various Bexley schools in previous years - C&S went out 6.2 miles last year (2011) and Beths 5.8 miles. As Tracy said, if your DC is a top 180 scorer, a Grammar place is guaranteed and distance becomes irrelevant.
Hope this helps.

Don't forget that Bexley offers places based on distance around the roads and not as the crow flies.

Yes, although 2 years ago BGS went out to 4.9 miles (!), last years it was 3.8 miles.
