Minibus/coach service from Dunmow area to CCHS-Chelmsford

Post by buttons »

Hi, Does anyone know if there is a coach or minibus service to Chelmsford? I have heard quite a few girls using First bus service. But Iam bit worried to send my DD on her own in public transport.

Hi Buttons - I expect that if there are others using the first bus service then she will be fine - they grow up very quickly and get very confident using public transport. Might be worth having a word with the school and asking if there are any other new girls from your area who could travel together or some older girls who may be able to keep an eye on the younger ones for a while.

Buttons, I felt the same last year, but my DD gets a public bus from Little Dunmow and loves it so much she now turns down a lift!!! There are several girls and boys from CCHS & KEGS on there too and she sees it as part of her social life!

Thats quite reassuring. I have never left DD on her own so was bit concerned about her safety.

kerryandjane1229, is there a bus stop in front of the school? or, do they have to get the bus from Chelmsford train station on their way back? Thanks

The bus stops outside school going in and at the garage opposite going home. There are always lots of girls waiting and usually a teacher outside school too. We did a couple of trial runs in the summer (definitely worth it) and she met other bus users at the induction/sports days organised by the school.
