Re: Help with "Two odd ones"
A painful one.
Hockey, tennis and cricket are all played with a ball. Badminton uses a shuttlecock and swimming uses nothing.
The obvious odd one out is swimming because it is water-based, so that can be ruled out. It is then a case of thinking about the equipment used to play each sport, where they take place, etc.

Re: Help with "Two odd ones"
Putting badminton and tennis in is a bit of a trap, because you do think of them as similar sports (which with squash they are both racket sports), so straight away you assume they are not the odd ones and look to the rest.
