Out of catchment appeal (Bexley)

Post by lucky mum »

Hi, i am new to this site, we are occ, my ds achieved a good mark in the bexley exam, he missed the top 180 mark by 2 marks. This is despite losing his grandfather three days before sitting the exam. He's on level 5a's and 5b in his core subjects. He is very disappointed that he didn't get any grammar school.
Does anyone have advice or experience of a similar case, as we have an appeal soon.
Thanks
Etienne

Bexley appeals are said to be quite tough!

In the Bexley School Admissions booklet http://www.bexley.gov.uk/CHttpHandler.ashx?id=1901&p=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
it gives the following figures for C&S appeals:

2011 - 2 heard - 0 allowed
2010 - 5 heard - 0 allowed
2009 - 10 heard - 1 allowed

I've consolidated these posts - please keep to one thread on Appeals.

Thanks
- stick to using this one thread for everything to do with your case: it is your personal “Q&A section” from now on. Please do not start a new thread each time you post about your own case, even if you are moving away from your original question - it helps us to have all the information in one place. We can change the original topic title for you if it no longer seems appropriate.
