Grade card before exam - Y7

My DD is preparing seriously for her Y7 end exam but she came yesterday with her grade card. I thought that her grades would be based on her exam performance. Now, I'm confused. She feels udner pressure because of the exam but if she's already got her grades where exam results are going to be reflected. Can anyone please clarify this for me. Thanks.

I am sure that year 7 grades were based on effort and attainment throughout the year rather than any exam results. The idea of exams in year 7 is often to get them used to doing subject exams rather than being concerned about the scores.

I really couldn't tell you how many exams my kids in in year 7 they didn't get too worried about them - the grades may have had an element of exam score in them but suspect they didn't
