Algebra help please
Hi, I am struggling terribly with this:simplify 2 (x + 3) = 2 If someone could show me in steps how to work it out I would be very grateful.

multiply bracket out
2x+6 = 2
get x to one side
2x =2 - 6
2x = -4
x= -4/2
x = -2
2x+6 = 2
get x to one side
2x =2 - 6
2x = -4
x= -4/2
x = -2

Given equation is
2 (x + 3) = 2
Divide both sides by 2
x + 3 = 1
Subtract 3 from both sides
x = 1 - 3 = -2
