Hashaam - rather than ask us any more questions - can you first check what you actually mean in the first question? Looks like a typo!

When he died at 81 she would have been 3 years younger - i.e. 78
91-78 = 13 years

13/91 = 1/7

Maybe it's a trick question. Perhaps there is enough to last 768 hours, but because the crew is all men and there are no women to share it out it will all get eaten very fast. Or maybe there is enough for 42 days but it will only last as long as it stays fresh for? So 42 days if it's ship's biscuits, but a day or so if it's lobster and there's no fridge.

Are we doing well?

A man covers 5/8 of a journey by train and 1/6 by boat. His train journey is 44 miles longer than that by the boat what is the length of the whole journey?

5/8 of a journey by train = 15/24
1/6 by boat = 4/24

so extra distance by train (44 miles) is 11/24 of whole journey (i.e. 15/24 - 4/24)
-> 1/24 of journey is 4 miles
-> whole journey is 96 miles
