Mixed with a bias to wordy information problems, good luck. :)

We're banking on a mix as we've hardly practised the NVR so he'll be thrown if it changes back to timed sections. DS2 is just "having a go" as a dry run for later indie exams - its definitely easier not to have any expectations.

Btw, did they say at the open evening what information they'll send in October? That seems very clear from Kendrick but a little vague for Reading.

Good luck to everyone.

Very unreliable witness, DS1, who as a sixth former has declined to help out at Reading exam reports teachers saying change to an early exam with results before CAF has led to a surge in numbers he says 650. :?

Anecdotally at DD's school seems a lot more are giving it a go at both Kendrick and Reading.

Good luck and best wishes to everyone, hope all the kids have a positive experience. :)

Is 650 a surge? I think we need to move to this area. Nearly 1700 sat for the Tiffins boys entrance test last Thursday and now School has announced it will take another test after CAF deadline. All you have to do is to put Tiffin name as one of the preferences and school will arrange for the tests on 7 December. Same for the Girls.

Yeah, it's a bit up on last year. But most of those boys won't be applying to other grammars, whereas from what I've read, a lot of Tiffin hopefuls will be? So perhaps the ratios of applicants to places overall aren't quite as different as they first seem? The Tiffin situation seems crazy this year though.

That appears to be the norm for Tiffins. Being in town, they have a greater amount applying.
Ratio of applicants to places is far higher for hopefuls sadly. :(

Make sense, strangely. Would be worth a go, and nothing lost as results out before CAF. Also makes sense that little prep would have been done by such.

It could also be partly down to the need to put the form in early - people may apply and then change their mind. I know of at least one girl and one boy for whom that is the case.

I certainly know a Kendrick applicant who has changed mind and won't be turning up for exam
