How pass mark is worked out in Slough consortium
Just wanted a clarification on the scoring system at Slough consortium.
Does it mean that if my DS got 90% aggregate as raw score in the Tests, i.e. 72/80 in NVR and 77/85 in VR, will he will be getting a score of around 126 (+/- for age)???
A score of 111 looks like 80%. Will 80% raw score be good enough if he is born in January.
Could someone please clarify.

Each years cohort is different, so no one can say what the scores will standardise out to.
The following link may be of help, explaining the standardisation process...

Also this link to historical allocation of places for the Slough Grammars may be of use...

Thanks for the links.
It's helpful.
However, can someone tell me about the approximate raw scores
required to achieve the minimum standardised score (111) in Slough Consortium.
Let's ignore the AGE standardisation for the above.

You can't ignore it - it will be different for each cohort and each age! They won't be hugely different, but will vary slightly.

Ok. Appreciate that age can't be ignored.
Let's assume the age to be 10Y 6M.
What raw score will get someone the pass score of 111?
Is it 80% or 85% or something else ?

Re: How pass mark is worked out in Slough consortium
I hate to say it, but it will vary each year depending on the cohort and how difficult the exam is. I know I'm not being very helpful and I'm sure someone will know more than me, but if you look in the Bucks section there is some historical data on scores needed to get 121 by month. I don't know how this relates to 111 in Berks. It is usually said on the Bucks forum that you need to be scoring 90% in practice to be fairly sure of passing (passmark is lower, but gives you a margin for errors on the day). I presume you have searched through the Berks section for similar information?
