Transport to Pates - help please!

Post by Jon1T »

Our DS has surprised us all by qualifying for Pates (134th). Am thinking we'll probably go for KES (Warks) as closer but need to check out the transport options before we look round Pates on Weds. We live near Chipping Campden. Does anyone travel to Pates from this area and if so how do you get your DC to school?!!! I believe there's a bus from Stow at 7.40am (painful) but someone mentioned there being one from Broadway too. Is this a better time as have younger child to consider too. Thanks.

Go into the Pates website and scroll down to the bottom of the admissions section. There is a list of all transport providers for the school.

The bus information on the website isn't necessarily accurate, as I discovered to my cost.

Amber- Can you please let me know what you found to be inaccurate? We are presently looking into this and would like to avoid whatever you found to be wrong. Thanks.

That's quite a journey Dr. Watson.
Totally agree - one word seems to be forgotten here - "CHILDREN". I agree its a good school but HOW MANY hours added on for travel time? Not something I would ever consider myself - each to their own - just my opinion.

useful info - thanks. Missed the bus info on the Pates' website. Also would be interested in what the incorrect bus info is.

Any pms on reflections on Pates would be useful - because we never had any expectations for Pates we never went to the school (prior to the 11+) or read up on it. We don't know anyone else who has kids there either.
thx

I agree. But its a temporary solution before we plan our move to the area. I have seen Pates buses and one of them start at 0710 hours. So there are people who are doing it. I know its a struggle but life is such anyway.

Cheers,
Dr. Watson
