Marling reissue letters.

Post by Orson »

Well, it had to happen:
Marling eat humble pie and accept their letters should have contained details of scores/rankings.
Letters to be reissued containing relevant info.
(Tsk tsk)

Orson - any idea when this is due to happen?
I phoned the admin dept at Marling this morning and they said that they had no intentions of issuing out scores or rankings to parents as they hadn't done it for the last 2/3 years!
It would help my DS who is outside of the 120 (by my best-guessed estimates - Just outside!) who has his heart set on Marliing despite passing the qualifying score for both STRS and Crypt....!
Would be good to know the actual numbers though.....

Papa1 - would be very surprised if your DS wasn't in top 120 for marling if qualified for both gloucester schools!
Well done to DS x

neveragain - frustratingly No!!!
For STRS he achieved 211 (versus a QM of 210) - so just srcaped past.
For Crypt he achieved 115 (versus a QM of 107.5)
For Marling they stated 'outside of top 120'....
That's why I just want the numbers to make my own judgement as to how he did!! He would like to know as well!! And.... we can then estimate how close he is to the 'magic' 120 has he really wants Marling over anywhere else..
Perhaps I should change my forum name to 'frustrated Papa1'.....!
The boy did well though...thanks for the support!!

I know of 6 boys who in 200's last year for marling that got in. My DS scraped a crypt pass and was above some of those boys who did get in to marling. Hold the faith......it's the ticking all boxes that confuses numbers........

Having spoken to Marling today I can confirm that letters have been sent out to arrive tomorrow - outlining ranking order.

I would phone the head. I think that is outrageous. Most schools are having open mornings this week for those who have never previously visited or will provide 6th formers to give you a tour if you can't make the open morning.
