EGS results are out!

Post by FluffyD »

I wasn't expecting them until tomorrow, though hoping for today.

My wonderful DS has passed with a score of 248.

The criteria is as follows:
Cut off Mark - 214
In Area Boys Passed - 41
Out of area boys Passed - 118

So that is 159 passes for 112 places and we are 10.2miles away.

Deosn't sound hopeful does it?

I am so massively proud of him I can hardly contain myself! Roll on 3pm for a massive cuddle!

Well done to your son Fluffy, mine has passed too but we live just under 9 miles away so its still unsure for us too (but he will be getting a mahoosive cuddle and a treat for doing so well as he wasnt really familiar with those types of tests). I wasnt expecting the results til tomorrow either so really happy they came today!

Well done beelaine :D

I am hoping that people that took the test were also taking the Halifax and Clitheroe schools and that we might stand a chance, I am unsure though....queue more waiting until March.

that is quite a low cutoff mark for in area passes this year !

(don't get cross but it may because the girls aren't included - I have heard they tend to make the cutoff higher  ).

Means that the oversubscription is very significant this year, far more than previous years ...pity they aren't going on rank order, Fluffy, as they used to as that is a crackingly good score!

the booklet we received with schools in lancs on it said about clitheroe: 'A candidate with Clitheroe RGS as a second or third preference, even if they have reached the required standard, cannot be offered a place if they are eligble for a school which a higher preference has been indicated on the Common Application Form' so i take that as reading if your child did the tests for both that if you want Clitheroe you need to put it as No.1 preference so a lot of people might do that x
