My son got 304. Is it worth applying to Westcliff or Southend who have an out of area cut of of 316

Sorry, but if you are out of catchment, it is very unlikely you would get in with 304

Thanks for the advice. My next option is Shoeburyness. Does anyone know anything about this school? I am visiting tomorrow.

I still think you should put a grammar on your CAF. Perhaps you will make it through a waiting list. I agree that it is unlikely, though. Shoebury is a large comp with a mixed intake. It certainly isn't bad. They also have a grammar stream, and your son would be elidible, and those children do very well.
