Calderdale - chance of acheiving first GS preference

Hi,

Our house is a happy place as our daughter passed - 291st on the list. We always thought it would be pretty close and glad the result was on the right side.

We'd be very happy with a place at either CH or NH as we feel both are exceptional schools and will be listing both on the form. However we will be putting CH first for several reasons - geography / convenience, many friends are going there, and she preferred the feel of the place on the open evening.

But I read elsewhere on this forum that more people list CH as 1st pref than NH.

We're wondering what our chances of getting CH are?

Does anyone have a similar experience from prior years of wanting CH from a low list position?

I think CH places generally seem to fill out before NH. You'll definitely get a place at one of the schools with that rank (assuming they are listed first and second on the CAF).

I think i read somewhere that CH was filled by around the 270-280 mark last year. My son came after that but got a place at NHGS.
