Do they ever get it wrong?
And say suitable for grammar when not?
I've just got dd's scores and her maths is only 112 - surely she can't have really therefore passed?
I've tried school by phone and email but no response...
Back to feeling sick then...

Re: Do they ever get it wrong?
This means your headteacher appealed for her on a headteacher appeal. She now is in the same position as all the other children who are suitable for grammar.
Re: Do they ever get it wrong?
Could she have got through on HT appeal?

I see! I hope that's it I really do, I assumed that they'd tell me this with the scores.
Thank you

Re: Do they ever get it wrong?
As previously said, this would be a pass at HT appeal.
I'm curious, were the other scores fairly high with an overall total above 360? I'm guessing they must have been, it's interesting because I was always told that you had to be within 1 or 2 points to stand a chance at HT appeal. But I expect with very high VR/NVR and strong academic evidence this would not be the case. That's quite reasuring.

Re: Do they ever get it wrong?
I know a child who last year got 340 and was assessed as suitable by GS as got through on HT appeal, so yes its very possible that she has passed! Congratulationsalicegreen wrote:And say suitable for grammar when not?

Re: Do they ever get it wrong?
My DS was 139 on verbal, 132 on maths and 113 on non-verbal and got a pass as well which I'm guessing had to be HT appeal. After hearing the 113 though I had to keep on checking and checking that I was reading the original email correctly!
Re: Do they ever get it wrong?
I got dd scores yesterday, fab v and non v but 118 for Maths. She said in the email it had been a ht appeal (kind of took the shine off a little) but hey! I always thought ht appeals were generally not that successful.

Re: Do they ever get it wrong?
I don't really understand this?
My dd scored 385 so 25 above the pass mark for this year. However she has been disqualified because her Maths was below 119, at 115, so only 4 marks. But unlike your dd, mine has been deemed H, therefore unsuitable for a Grammar school Yet she has 3 more points than yours?
I just find this whole system so bemusing!
