It will be interesting to see what the other schools do. If enough follow suit could this be the end of the CSSE?
Personally I hope not, its hard enough for our DC's sitting one exam, sitting different ones for each grammar school would be a nightmare.

Welcome to the CEM club! Get on over to Birmingham (and Warwickshire - but there's more detail on Birmingham - look for KenR's sticky) for details of what sort of thing to expect. Be warned - it's nothing like conventional 11+ - and you will not be looking for full/virtually full marks. Average raw scores in Warwickshire this year (where the test is opt in so it's not the full ability range who take it) were
Verbal Reasoning = 56 out of 111
Numerical Reasoning = 10 out of 42
Non Verbal Reasoning = 18 out of 32

On the CCHS statement it mentions maths, NVR and VR but no mention of English.. Does the CEM exam usually have an English component ? Or does it appear that the CCHS test will no longer have an English test.
Re: Chelmsford County High changing admissions tests for 201
CEM verbal reasoning is really English, not traditional VR. There aren't any codes etc, but there is comprehension, cloze (gap fill) and sections to do with definitions etc.
