Sixth form boarding schools offering a bursary?
My DN currently attends an indie with bursary support. SHe is interested in boarding for sixth form- does anyone know of where we can find details of schools which may offer bursary support etc please?
We are in NW but she is not concerned about location.

I'm afraid I don't know of any but if you find one do let me know, my DDs aren't keen but I'd jump at it today

I went to a mixed boarding school in Dorset called Bryanston. I received the old boys/girls handbook today and there was a large section in it about the number of bursaries they have on offer.
It is what I would call rather" arty " old boys include Lucian Freud, Terence Conran, Jasper Conran, Ben Fogle, Cerys Matthews and boring old me.

Atlantic College? A very different life to most 6th forms I think. Birthplace of the IB.

Hi - there's a day/boarding girls' school in Rickmansworth, Herts, called Royal Masonic School for Girls, which my DD attends as a day girl. Bursaries are definitely available but not sure if it only covers tuition fees or boarding as well... website prob worth a rummage! Boarding facilities are lovely, my DD has stayed occasionally. I know friends who've seriously considered 6th form boarding for their DDs even if they live locally, as such fab facilities, and girls learn independent living before leaving for uni etc. Don't be put off by the Masonic in the title, I think it's merely historic!

My son goes to a co-ed boarding and day school in Herts called Aldenham.
They have bursaries and scholarships.
Have a look at the website - they were inspected a few weeks ago and achieved excellent in everything.

My Dd goes to Aldenham she has never been happier. Fantastic school children do well without hot housing.
