rough paper for working in Kent 11+ or on the question book

Post by sweethome »

Does anyone know that whether in Kent 11+ test, the child has to use the question booklet for workings out or if they are required to use rough paper and not allowed to write on the question booklet?
thanks.

I asked KCC a similar question for last years exam, their response is below:

"The instructions on the question papers, which are also read out by the invigilator, explain that children may do rough working out on the question paper. There is no penalty attached to writing on the question paper.

However, two things to note -

1. Any extra writing or pencil marks on the answersheet may affect the marking, which is done by computer, using an optical mark reader.

2. If he accidentally writes his answers on the question paper and not on the answersheet, we may not be able to trace them later, as question papers do not have pupils' names on them - they are collected in and destroyed in bulk after testing."

But for the Bexley test writing on the paper was not permitted last year.

thanks so much for your answer, Peter.
It is much better if they are allowed to scribble on the question paper, esp for VR.
