Please advice!

Post by Biar »

Hello to all,
I am new to the forum and would like to thank everyone for the great advices They bring on.
My ds has scored 109 in Slough consortium. Then did Bucks and got 121.
My question is: shall I get ready for an appeal?
My ds wants to go to BGS, is there any chance?
Thanks for your advice!

Is BGS Burnham Grammar? What order did you put the schools? Where do you live (roughly)?

For the past 2 years Burnham has offered places to children living up to 13 miles away, and out of catchment, but previous years have been rather less than that. There is more information here: http://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/school ... n-profiles" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It might be a bit touch-and-go, I'm afraid.

Hello Sally-Anne and thank you for your quick reply.
My location is around 14 miles to Burnham.
Would you advise me to start to write a letter of appeal ready for Slough in case of over subscription to BGS. Or would I get one for burham??
I'm very confused as what to do! Or shall I just wait until allocation day then decide?

I don't think you can't do anything about appealing until after allocation day

Hmmm ... I have just looked at the latest figures I have for school allocations, and by the end of July, Burnham had a spare place so was in fact "All Offered".

I would hold fire until Allocations Day and see what happens.

Thanks Sally-Anne.
Why doesn't BCC publish the data for last year?
The website still shows status as of 01 Mar 2012.
Also, are there any statistics on how many seats are available for second, third round allocation at BGS in the past years. I am trying for second round allocation as I am OOC and bit far from school.
