Would you recommend a Tutor in Birmingham area?

Can you recommed a Tutor in Birmingham area please?
Has anyone used 'Tudor House 11+ courses?' & would you recommed ?
Thanking you all in advance.

Genuine recommendations by PM only (private message) are acceptable - but beware of the possibility that someone who appears to be offering a recommendation may have a vested interest! Please let us know if you think anyone is abusing the system by soliciting for business or 'spamming'. (It's easy to report a possible problem: just click on the 'report button' - the red exclamation mark.)
Always treat recommendations from unknown persons with caution. However, there are many long standing members (check the date of joining and number of posts) who make a valuable contribution to the forum. If you receive a recommendation from one of them, it could be worth considering seriously (while still exercising a degree of caution).
If you receive a recommendation from anyone else, please exercise extreme caution!

Re: Would you recommend a Tutor in Birmingham area?
A few years ago Tudor House had a fairly poor reputation. More to do with their business practices than the tuition though, but I don't know of anything (positive or negative) recently.

hi,
last year we went for a 'free assessment' at tudor house, the mans living room!!
he was nice enough said ds had a good brain and before we had a chance to make a decision he had written out payment schedules. It would be so many 1000 pounds to tutor him.
We were totally put off by this felt very money, money, money orientated.
We found a much better tutor that ds really liked.

Just ensure that any you choose have good parent advocates, so I guess word of mouth is the best way to sound out the quality of a tutor. Year 5 tutoring is too important to mess up your DC's 11+ chances.
