Types of pronouns and connectives
DD has some interesting literacy homework this weekend. English isn't my strong point, but I thought I had stuff like nouns, verbs, adverbs etc sorted.
This had different types of pronouns (personal, relative and possessive) which I think I sort of get, but wouldn't mind someone to explaining it.
Also had subordinating and co-ordinating connectives. Now totally lost at sea. what on earth are these? I know what a connective is, but can someone please explain what these are?
(Give me calculus any day )

Someone posted this recently:

Re: Types of pronouns and connectives
Thanks, that sort of helps with the connectives, (assuming the stuff on conjunctions relates)
However I'm not sure it helps with the types of pronouns she had.

Re: Types of pronouns and connectives
Found a site for each type:
http://www.englishclub.com/grammar/pron ... rsonal.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.englishclub.com/grammar/pron ... essive.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.englishclub.com/grammar/pron ... lative.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (apparently relative pronouns link two sentences and refer to the noun they follow)
If this doesn't help, I will try to work out an explanation. (The first two are easy to explain.)

Re: Types of pronouns and connectives
Thanks, I think that sorts it all.
How did I survive all these years not knowing this stuff

Re: Types of pronouns and connectives
I don't know what calculus is and I'd never heard of co-ordinating and subordinating connectives until a few weeks ago.
