Controlled assessments in AQA Chemistry - triple

Post by Minesh »

:? Could a science specialist throw some light on what is exactly required - apparently 25% of mark
DC about to do Chemistry having completely messed up in Physics - we were not aware and not told but 50% - the rest of class did average 78%
Want to avoid and salvage one Science - chemistry - as A/A* unlikely now in Physics

Where is the emphasis and how can we (non scientists) help

Many thanks for suggestions - appreciate

I'm not quite sure whether you are asking about the controlled assessment (which presumably is in the past) or the exam. DD was pulled down by her controlled assessment too but my advice would be to practice as many past papers as possible and mark them against the mark schemes both of which will be available on the AQA website.

ISAs are coursework and are practical tasks.

Look on the exam board website for how these are assessed; the generic mark scheme is quite clear.
