Walsall consortium exam content - KenR
KenR - thanks for the very helpful summary of content for the 2011 Walsall test - do you have any information on the 2012 test or any other years to get a wider view of what is tested please? I don't see a lot of difference between what was tested in 2011 and the tests for the Birmingham grammar tests? Thanks

sorry no further info - I only get the content information send to me via PM by parents of children who sat the test.

Here you go firebrand1...
1st Section - 45 minutes
====================
1. Comprehension (around 21 question, 18 minutes) - About Olympic athlete Rhonda, the same one appeared in previous KE exam
2. Missing letter Cloze (around 25 missing words)
3. Antonyms/Synonyms (around 35 synonyms, 25 antonyms)
4. Jumbled up sentences (around 25)
2nd Section - 45 minutes
=================
1. NVR - 6 boxes with 2d shapes, 1 missing (around 25 questions)
2. Maths long problem solving - 7 section with 5 to 6 questions
Toddler having a bath problem - again same as one of the past KE exams
3. NVR - sequences (around 25 questions)
Sorry not as detailed as you would have expected but I am sure it will give you an idea of the sort of things to look out for.

Thanks MSD. Wonder if we just need to see previous KE exams to work out what's coming up then?!
Re: Walsall consortium exam content - KenR
It would definitely help! I was under the impression that Durham CEM had a pre-set question bank pool to pick from unless they plan to surprise with new question types like jumbled up words or pick from group of word cloze which were seen in the recent tests.
