As offer in any one School is not certain and depends on so many variable, it would make sense to sit for all the 'feasible' tests. Schools could then be prioritized on CAF, as preferred.

Tiffin Boys' has been VR and NVR for years whereas the 3 Sutton Grammars have varied their test formats over the last few years. It hasn't put anyone off so far!
Parents tend to prep for these exams over a year or two and there is natural overlap anyway - the vocab elements of VR exercises aiding English writing tasks for example.

I have heard some parents decide to only sit for Sutton and Tiffins or Wilsons and Wallington but that has always been based on their location not the test formats. If they live centrally, they tend to enter all 4. If they live nearer Croydon they may decide Kingston is unrealistic. If they live a commute from Tiffins, they may decide an extra hour to Wilson's isn't feasible.

In general, people enter their children for as many schools as possible simply because competition for places is so high that, if they want a grammar school, they cannot be so fussy that early in the process as to rule some out without even trying.

Yes, yes and yes. My guess would be all three areas will be covered with emphasis on the comprehension. That's pure speculation though based on the fact that, when Sutton decided to increase emphasis on literacy in previous years, all three of those areas featured in their assessments.
