Tiffin - Published Practice Papers List for VR & NVR

Post by JaysDarlin »

Hello All

I hope everyone's 11+ prep is going smoothly.

Please could someone tell me if any other papers have been recently published? I have a feeling that a new set has been published? We have all the old ones - these ones that we are using:

NVR
Learning Together Series - I havent bothered with this lot, this time round)
AE Tuition Workbooks
AFN
Letts/GL assessment (penguins on cover)
New Letts (penguins on cover again)
Bonds Papers

VR
Bright Sparks 2 books
Learning Labs 2 books
Walsh 3 books
Letts/GL assessment (giraffes on cover)
New Letts (giraffes on cover again)

Are CGP Papers any good?

Our progress is as follows - For VR we have finished Bright Sparks and are almost finished with Learning Labs, and for NVR we have done all the bonds assessment papers, AE tuition, and are towards the end of the AFN papers.

How is everyone else doing?

There has been a new set by GL. I didn't used them though so can't express an opinion.

PS I take it you have a few years break before baby is going to go through it?

As already mentioned by 999 mum, GL and Bond have pack 2 for NVR & VR.
We did 2 other packs, which I can't mention here as these are not included in the forum's recommended list. If you wish, I could pm you the details.
We also used Tutors 15 minutes revision papers for VR - level 3 & 4. There were some errors in level 4 papers; but these may have been corrected by now. Very useful for quick revision.

Hi Tiffinboys & JaysDarlin,

My DS is also preparing for 11+ and I found that list mentioned below is just practice tests. What is best way to make his foundation strong and clarifing concept on VR & NVR?

My DS is currently doing maths by reading books on vedic mathematic (ancient Indian way) and I found that it has increased his calculation very fast.

Is there any good book around for VR & NVR to improve fundamentals? My plan for him to clarify concepts by mid july and then start doing practice tests (and mocks).

Please let me know if my thinking is wrong as I don't have much experience on 11+ prepartion.

We mostly did diy. Our start-up preparation was as follows.

VR: We started with Bond assessment books, then did Susan Daughtry techniniques book 1-4 and thereafter, IPS practice papers. Note SD technique books cover 35 types, where-as GL tests 21 types, so SD books are not needed as such; however, we found them useful in our preparation.

Have you also seen Patricia's post - extremely useful.

NVR: We used Bond assessment books and then Athey. At a later stage, we came across AE workbooks, which could be used instead of Bond assessment books.
