GL pack 2 paper 7 Q 36 and 37
Hi all,
Please could someone help with following questions to explain to a ten year old.
Q 36
Recipe needs 500g of flour and 150ml of milk
Mr. price has only 400g of flour
How much milk should he use?
Q37
A pie chart shows English 120 degrees, maths 100 degrees and science 140 degrees.
The number who chose English was 2 greater than the number who chose maths. How many children were asked altogether?
Many Thanks

First question - get them to work out how much milk for 100g of flour (divide by 5) and then for 400 grammes - times by 4.
Second question - English is 20 degrees bigger than maths. This represents 2 children cos 2 more children do English than maths. So 1 child is represented by 10 degrees. 360 degrees must represent 36 times this - i.e. 36 children.
