Open Days in Y5

Post by RedVelvet »

DS2 has just started year five and I'm trying to remember when open days are. With DS1 we did the rounds of open days at the beginning of year five (now) as I wanted to be sure the grammar school route was the right one. Having decided already my second boy will sit the test I'm not too keen to take him just yet, but don't want to leave it until this time next year.

Do all the schools have open days in the summer?

There's a list of the autumn ones here: http://www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/CHttp ... =53187&p=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Afraid I don't know how many of the schools also do them in the summer. Sorry.

Edit: Just found this list (scroll down a bit to find it): http://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/school ... re-11-plus" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It lists open days/mornings/evenings for 2013. They all seem to have had something in the first half of this year so will probably all have something in the first half of next year too, but some only seem to have mornings in the summer and evenings in the autumn, which might make a difference as to whether you were able to take your DC with you.

Thanks Debs, looks like I can take him in the spring/summer. Having been through this recently with my other son I feel it's more for him than me.
