Anyone else having a stab at Newstead ...

but not holding their breath? I might be proven wrong, though I can't see my daughter passing if it's as hard as I've heard. Shame, as we have fallen a little bit in love with it after the open day yesterday!

I know I'm quite a long. way from you (and not one of those people who put their DC in for every 11+ within a hundred-mile radius, also only one DD add she is in year 8!) but for what it's worth, the only sure-fire way for her not to get in is for her not to have a go in the first place...

Exactly, it's hard when you see a school and can imagine them there. Wish I hadn't gone to the Open Day & let my husband take her!

Thank you so much, I was really stressed earlier on in the week when the cold peaked, but thankfully she turned a corner today. I kept her off school and made sure she drank lots of fluids. She's now tucked up in bed with Olbas and a spoonful of Calpol! :D This is when I feel totally chilled and think what will be will be!
