Post by JamesDean »

I thought there were 120 places at AGS next year, but this article in the local rag says its 150!

From AGS prospectus:

From September 2013 the Year 7 intake will increase from 90 to 120 students. This year by year increase will mean that by September 2017 the school will have expanded by 150 students across Years 7 to 11.

That makes more sense, Brum Mum! The article made it sound like they were taking 90 + 150 into year 7!!! Which would be fab in terms of getting a place, but would make it as big as the local comps!

Terrible journalism!
"Currently Alcester Grammar has more than 400 students vying for 90 places in year seven every year.

The new Spencer building has allowed the school to accept 150 more year seven pupils this September, gradually growing the size of the student body over time."

Actually AGS offers 120 year 7 places per year, as of last year, and it definitely isn't offering 150 EXTRA in a single intake! 30 extra per year - beginning with the cohort who entered the school in September 2013 - so the numbers will eventually be 150 higher.
