Sale Grammar School results

Post by elizabethswan »

I've just called SGS and the results are being posted next Monday, according to the lady on reception. I was really hoping it would be this week! 7 more days to wait!

I have a feeling they said that last year then they arrived on the Saturday before. Hopefully that will happen again this year! :D

It was definitely Tuesday last year, not Saturday.

Not that it matters but sale results arrived on a Saturday. I clearly remember it as I was on a first aid course miles away from home and felt awful I couldn't be there to comfort my child (it wasn't the result we were expecting)!

Anyway my child is now happily thriving at another grammar school. We are now going through the process again with our middle child.

I feel calmer than last year. I've come to realise that in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter if its a pass or a fail. My son has worked hard, made us proud and will do well in any school he attends because HE wants to work hard. Last year it was all I thought about and talked about with other parents. I was nervously counting down the days till the results were posted.

This year I've avoided the parents, put zero pressure on our son and we haven't even discussed what days the results will come. Maybe its because I don't think he will pass (youngest in year and just not quite ready) or maybe because we have been there and done it!

Good luck to all of you and your children :-)

It's going to vary according to the postal service isn't it!

The year my first went through it I got AGSB on a Saturday but my friend didn't get her son's until Monday and others on Tuesday.

We all know how reliable the post is <ahem>

Last years letter was dated 22nd October, which was a Monday. I can't remember when we got it though <helpful>

I'm expecting Stretford results on Saturday, would be great to get them together and get it over with.
