Anyone Else Having Sleepless Nights?

Post by Audreylawyer »

Is it just me, or does time seem to be going really slowly. Next Wednesday seems such a long way off

Reading are the last of the results we are waiting for, but also the most eagerly anticipated. We are OOC, and applying for boarding. My DS has done well in other exams, but for him, the other schools pale in comparison to Reading

And so now I find myself unable to sleep, and trawling the other regions, jealous of those who have their results for their No.1 choice school, and hoping that my DS has done just as well in Reading as in the others.

Ahh well, just another 8 days to go.......

Yes, sleepless nights here too.. Counting the days..

Thankfully DS seems oblivious to the results and enjoying his post-exam days joyfully. One more week and who knows what the outcome would bring in - painful moments of consoling him or a peaceful sigh!!

Sleeping ok, but the jitters are getting closer together! And my expectations are very low, I'm just nervous.

As I mainly DIY'd I feel that if he does not get through then I have to take responsibility for it :(

He did 10 group tutor sessions. Cost a fair amount and he did not learn anything, so I decided to do it myself to be sure that we had plugged any gaps left from school. Now I am wishing I tutored him from year 4 instead of just doing it throughout the summer holiday.

I know patience is a virtue, but right now it is not one of the virtues I possess

Hi Kol,

Yes, it does seem as if we are sitting the same schools. We too are waiting for Slough and Reading, although my DS has discounted Slough and is not prepared to go there under any circumstances

We are lucky that he loved the Bucks schools so will be happy enough to go there if he does not get into Reading.

He is adamant that Reading is the school for him, and I have to say, that of all the schools we have seen, Reading is the one that I see him being happiest at.

I hate waiting! :)

We're also waiting for our Berkshire results although my daughter has no desire to attend any of the Slough schools but it was good practice for Kendrick! Received a successful result from Buckinghamshire and loved Wycombe High but the preference is Kendrick..

Not too long now..

Good luck!

I'm having sleepless nights because I cracked a rib due to football at the weekend.... but that's a different story.

DD mentioned that it's only a week to go! She's always used to getting the test/mock results instantaneously. We've also started to look at the various scenarios - at the end, she'll be happy either way knowing she tried her best.

 hope it's not too painful.

My DS has no idea when the results are out. Only he and one other sat from his school, so we have avoided anyone mentioning the actual date.

I have been saying rather vaguely that they are out some time at the end of the month. I think that one crazy impatient person in our house is more than enough
