Out fo Catchment/ Parkstone Grammar
Hi,
Is anyone else out there anxiously waiting the PGS results next week? Any views on how your daughters felt in the exams? My daughter was unsure how she did...but was faced with questions she had practised at home...we did not tutor..just me!
We are out of catchment (Verwood)...anyone else get their daughter in recently..what score was needed? Most seem to go to BGS..is that easier to get into? My son got into PGS last year...would be so easy if she went the same direction! Oh well not too long to wait

Results are finally in. Phew! Delighted to report that DD passed PGS.
The maximum achievable score was 141 and the overall pass mark was 114.
DD got 130. Not too sure where that puts her in the "non catchment" category but pleased with her achievements.
Good luck VerwoodPGSmum, hope you get good news too.

Brilliant. News. Congrats. Thats a very high pass

Congratulations Ladybird. I would have thought 130 should be plenty high enough to get in.
DD got 139 so we are pretty pleased

Hi everyone,
Well done to those who had DDs pass.
Unfortunately the news was not so good our end....she was 5 marks short. Very upset daughter. She is on target for great year targets (6 in Maths/English Sats)...so am unsure whether this could be reason enough to try an appeal. Of course we are out of catchment too.
Feel I let her down of course...wish we had tried for Bournemouth too...as she is strong in the English especially.
Would you appeal? (She wants to and her teachers would support this too)
Any advice welcome,
Thanks.
