Just thought I would share some links on KE VI Handsworth for those of you considering it.
If anyone has a dd there, you're welcome to comment on your experience too.

(It is good that they've copied this as the Times has a paywall...yes KEVIH comes 13th on the country, KECHG 20th...)

Re: KE VI Handsworth
Scores needed to get into CHG:
Years exam taken (2004-2012 for entry 2005-2013)
323, 329, 321, 325, 330, 328, 222, 225, 229
(108)(110)(107)(109)(110)(110)(111)(113)(115)
So last year 229 and 225 the year before that.

My dd was having a cry tonight - it's been an emotional week - and we looked on the website in an attempt to cheer her up.
By the end (and particularly once she'd noticed the knitting club ), she was getting rather worried that she might get into KECHG instead

Um, I just noticed your post on your DDs score. She did very well! Surely her score might make it for CHG, she's above last years minimum. Although I don't know if they have a knitting club ....
Re: KE VI Handsworth
We're rather fond of the knitting club thank you very much - don't knock until you've tried itum wrote: Bob1892

Ah, the knitting club! But also, during lessons, the girls make some great stuff you know- credit to their textile's teacher. So far dd1 has made a bag for her gran, a woolly hat for her sister, a purse for her cousin and a really comfy set of pyjamas for me too!
With regard to KEVIHS and our experience: out of all the KE schools that we know of, I know I really appreciate KEVIHS the most. And this is because of what the school does & cultivate, and how evidently happy the girls are there. I know my dd1 has her heart set on 2 careers: a paediatrician or a teacher. And if she does become a teacher, she wants to work at KEVIHS!
Tbh, any girl who secures a place at any KE school is very fortunate as there are plenty of dds out there who really wanted it, but couldn't manage to secure a grammar place at all.
Best wishes.
