CCHS IC/OOC back data???

Post by Halo »

In October 2012, the CSSE traffic light sheet included CCHS, as it had not yet opted out of CSSE. However, it had that year imposed a 'catchment area'.

The previous 4 years worth of entrants' data had been retrospectively examined in order to create this traffic light sheet. This newly analysed data would give prospective parents a guide to what standardised score was required for an In Catchment and OOC DD.

This leads me to believe that it must be known how many girls out of the 120 admitted in September 2012 were 'IC' or 'OOC'.

Does anyone out there have that information? I wish I'd asked this at the meeting! :?

If I knew this it might give me a better idea where my IC DD has to be on the Order of Merit for Sep 2014 entry.

For example if I knew there were 60 OOC girls admitted in Sep 2012, but then had a 'Priority Area' been imposed, there would have been a shift of 36 places to IC girls.

The numbers of OOC DDs in the top 120 vary from year to year. Since you are IC what you want is in the top 96 of IC and not the numbers of OOC as in reality there will be at least 24 if not more OOC DDs in the top 120.

Hi. Back on the forum after a long break, although I've been following all the CChS news - thanks to everyone who has helped clarify the process - much appreciated!!

I think Halo is touching on a subtle, but quite interesting, point. The number of girls on the order of merit who are ooc and ranked ahead of you could be quite interesting to parents of an ic girl, and the data Halo is after (which must be available otherwise it wouldn't have been possible to do the traffic light form last year) would help estimate this. I'll try to explain what i mean.......when I am more awake!!!!

I would suggest you search for any threads or documents on the internet for when the catchment areas for CCHS and KEGS were originally proposed. The reason for the introduction of the catchment area was the rising number of far away applicants and I am sure alot of numbers were quoted. 40% is the number I think mentioned but I cannot be sure.

Blitz, Thank you!

That's just what I was after.

I think, if I've understood the Appendix info correctly, the split in previous years was as follows:

2011 : IC 69 - OOC 51
2010 : IC 78 - OOC 42
2009 : IC 84 - OOC 36

I think I've had enough of analysing things unknown and I'll try and mentally switch off till 3 March! :D

Does anyone know how many OOC DDs Got into CCHS via W/L? If there were no more than five that means approximately 30 OOC DDs were in the top 65 "Ranked list of Applicants".

Appendix A of the document in the link states the number of ic and ooc applicants in each of the last three years. For 2012, there was a total of 803 applicants with 351 in proximity and 452 outside proximity.
