11+ Essay

Post by Guest »

Have just spoken to Warwickshire EA & today's questions (for those at state primaries in area) will NOT be repeated at next weeks sitting for independents & out of catchments.

However, it is possible that question / topic types will be similar so keep mum !

Thanks for the reminder. Will remain tight-lipped now!!
Son seems to think it went well...but who knows?! Extended writing definitely NOT his forte...

Hello there you.

I thought you were out of catchment? Did other schools do it today too? A friend who's son has been unable to write due to a broken wrist is sitting exam in Warwick at end of Oct & then essay two weeks later, again in Warwick.

I know! Let's not lower our standards. I think we brighten up the forum and quite frankly add a touch of class!!

How did your daughter find the essay (without giving info away...)

Hmmmm. The "Guest" that started this thread was me too. I just wanted Warwickshire to look more popular. What's happened to Warks Mum? Anyway re essay, Lauren (lol!!! Only you'll know why this is funny) said that they won't need to read hers because she "did fine in the test". Bless her! She said that she put in so much description that her pencil was almost on fire and that she's not as good at writing as I think she is. I think she enjoyed it and is now pleased it's all over.

Did Ed do 1, 2 or 3?

Ed thinks it went well, but who knows...!!
I like the description of her pencil being on fire, hope she managed to slot that into her essay somewhere. Ed chose number 2, although he called it B. No doubt the same thing. I tried to ask him about it but it was 'fine' also.
He does know that person you mentioned!
