NFER missing letters

Post by Macca7 »

Stuck on the following questions:

Insert missing 3 letters to make one correctly spelt word

1. What is the PR of that?
2. Please play the CASTE

Thanks in advance for any pointers

1.ice...price
2.set...cassette

Old words like cassette tend to feature even more in Walsh..I think wireless is one from memory?

Learning common letter combinations, and phonic groupings is the trick with these, otherwise it is a case of keep on plugging away.

Were you not given 3 letter word options?

Also think about where you can split the word up, and remember, that the three letters could be at the front or end, as in the example pr giving price.

So for CASTE

C aste
Ca ste
Cas te
Cast e

And see if that helps inspire. DD found if she couldn't see the answer, she would leave it and come back to it and often would then be able to answer it. Doing lots of examples helps.
If you have MC questions this is much easier, DD had to deal with standard format.
