Hillview school for girls, Tonbridge

Post by mystery »

If you look at KS4 pupil progress for 2013 versus 2012 in the DfE performance tables the school has made a stellar improvement with high and middle attainers, particularly in maths. What was the trick?

Probably either a change of teaching staff or that some high achieving children didn't get into grammar that year and Hillview was the next best option.

Was there a change of staff? High achievers on entry are high achievers on entry so it had to be because of some improvement in teaching unless some errors

The latest ofsted report published 21 jan 2014 says that previous underperformance in maths has been rigorously addressed.

Whatever they did has worked as 2012 ks4 results show progress in maths was dire and 2013 progress in maths looks good.
