Hi,
No, my DS took his exams two weeks ago, results in another three. I have no idea when we will hear any news re the bursary application. I kind of thought it would be at the same time as the exam result/place offer letter?

The DCs in the school where I work sat their exams on Monday, this who have been called back for academic scholarships heard yesterday for the exams this coming week. The rest of the children will hear the outcome of their exams at the end of next week and the scholarship outcomes academic/sports/art/music will hear 2 weeks after sitting for the scholarships.
Hope this helps some parents get an idea of timings.

I don't know where you live or which school you are applying for - I live in the North-East and I'm applying for my local grammar.

I heard back about the level (%) of bursary my income qualifies for, prior to my son sitting the entrance exam (Jan 18th). There was a note to state that bursary applications this year far exceeded what was in the pot though, so any final offer may or not be the level that my household income qualified for..

My son has been invited back for an interview next week, and while he's in, I have an informal meeting with an 'out-reach worker' regarding the bursary and may or may not require a home visit..

It depends on the school.
We applied for several bursaries.
Some schools did not contact us at all till they sent a letter with an offer of place and details of the bursary or scholarship awarded (at the same time all other letters went out). Two schools called and came for a home visit around the time of the interviews, but even they only confirmed when all offers went out.

Hi BusyQueenBee,
Can I be cheeky and ask whether you
We're lucky enough to secure any sort of
Bursary?
We're despararely hoping we get offered
substantial help so my DS can attend the
School we all loved the best!
Thanks,

Yes FF2002 we were very lucky and secured a bursary for our child.
He knows what a great thing he has been given and is truly making the most of the opportunity every day.
Best of luck!
