I am having visions of Dylan, the psychedelic rabbit from the Magic Roundabout.
Sadly, I don't think he ever wore purple, but I've sent you a PM anyway, purplerabbit.

Quite right, Dylan preferred blue and yellow. But then again I can't imagine him stressing out about 11plus. Chill man! Thanks.

Re: PM For Good Educational Psychologist in South Bucks
Ditto - please - I am lost in this world - not sure what qualifications to look for in an Ed Psychologist - the one I was recommended no longer does assessments for Primary Schools children- I am particularly interested in issues to do with sequencing, patterns, phonics and slow processing speed - don't know if Ed P's specialise in areas or if all are qualified to do the same thing ?
So if anyone can help that would be great ?
Does anyone know what sort of timeline we might be looking at for the Appeals - Admissions wouldn't say - but are we likely to be looking at May/June for hearings or sooner ?

PM sent.
Almost certainly May for non-qualification appeals, and probably June for oversubscription appeals.BlueBerry22 wrote:Does anyone know what sort of timeline we might be looking at for the Appeals - Admissions wouldn't say - but are we likely to be looking at May/June for hearings or sooner ?

Blueberry what are the nfer tests you refer to? Are they similar to CATS? I was told there was no way you could compare the 121 of the 11+ with 121 of other tests, as the standardisation and mark scheme were so different. Did your dc do higher than average in these nfer tests and was there a mention of it on your review paperwork, or is that your assumption as that is the only thing that is not at a high level? With great sats, a very supportive head teacher, and 110 score I would have to agree these tests seem very important. Were they state school tests?

Hi SouthBucks3,
The NFER tests are VR and NVR - they were sat in Y5 and I believe they mirror the old style Bucks 11+ - although I haven't seen a paper (will do that after half term).
No mention of them on paperwork from clerk's note but head believes they were probably the nail in the coffin as DC has never been able to do these tests. DC's score was just 111 & 110.
Had old style 11+ still been in place I would have had to follow through on "how can a child perform in the classroom & SATS but not on the 11+" but we had a move to a curriculum based 11+ and I felt DC would be fine - how wrong!

They sound like CATs to me, which are administerd by NfER (I think, or is it GL, is all rather confusing!). They usually have a quantiative paper as well, though. The NVR cannot mirror the old style Bucks 11 plus as there was no NVR. If you search on CATs on here multiple threads will come up. I think the feeling is that a high score on CATs may indicate potential for success in the 11 plus, but it is just a snapshot.BlueBerry22 wrote:Hi SouthBucks3,
