Kendrick Rankings

Post by 11+11+ »

Do we ever find out what position our child came?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure that they didn't, last year.

No - once they are there it is irrelevant.

It seems that once there scores are never discussed nor is ranking. There's no need.

I've wondered too, because on the Kendrick acceptance form, right on the front is a "for office use only" section and there is a box to put the child's ranking...

But I'll be grateful if my kids don't find out, at least until they finish & leave!

That was on the form for us too.

As far as I know they don't use those scores in any way. Maybe they use to look at the effectiveness of the 11+ test when the girls finish school. They certainly don't use them for anything else. The school only set for maths (halfway through year 7) and the setting is based on work/tests in school.

That is really interesting Tinkers, I assumed they would have sets for everything. Any Cats done?

No CATs done so far, DD is in year 7, don't know if they do them later on, but doubt it. If a girl did well enough to get in then overall they should be doing well in most subjects when there.

No CATs unless they've changed things recently. There's not really enough of a range of ability to need sets. Pretty much everyone gets A/A* whichever maths set they're in, the difference is more in the style of teaching and size of class.
