Books 'For Dummies' are usually good for this sort of thing.

Searc on youtube, good for anything from cutting hair, changing a bulb, to all things Microsoft.

I am self taught. I recommend "Access for Dummies".

If you know the basics-set up some tables,do some make_table queries,join queries,delete and append and filter queries.
Set up a macro and run the above queries.
Try building a form and go from there.

I have never used Access before, ever.

However many moons ago I did use Lotus Approach and managed to link it to drawings on Auotcad so I could get info on objects on the drawing from the DB. However Approach seemed to be considerably more user friendly than Access when I've ventured anywhere near it.

The end product will be used by non access users in a meeting to record information, then after the meeting the info needs to be manhandled to give info to various people in different formats. At the moment we use excel, and trying to wrestle the info out of that in the format wanted is like herding cats.

Hi- Access is mainly used for large volumes of structured data.Sounds like you should not be using Access in this case-without knowing what the data is like.

Also you may be better off using excel and writing visual basic to get the data in the formats required ?

Seems our ICT dept don't support Access, so it's not the way to go anyway. Seems I'll have to do something interesting with Excel instead.

I would know what the data is and what we need out of it, it's the same sort of data every time. Excel is just a bit clunky for the job.
